Phishing

If you think you have compromised your Geneseo username and password through a phishing email, immediately.

A phishing website or message tries to trick you into revealing personal information by appearing to be from a legitimate source, such as a bank, social network, or Geneseo. If you receive a suspicious message, do not provide the information requested. Learn more on . 

Report Phishing

  1. Check if a phishing alert is posted to the Phish Bowl.
  2. If there is not a recent warning on the Phish Bowl, report the phishing in Gmail. To do so click 3 dots next to the reply arrow and select 鈥淩eport phishing.鈥 Or "Report spam," if using the mobile app. 
  3. If you have a specific question about the phishing email, you can also report it to the Help Desk by forwarding it to helpdesk@geneseo.edu.

Most importantly, never reply to suspicious emails, texts, or posts with your personal or financial information. Also, don鈥檛 fill out forms or sign-in screens that link from these messages.
