For the fifth time in the college鈥檚 history, 黑料网 has been named a Top Producer of awards, as announced by the State Department鈥檚 Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and reported in in its annual article. Geneseo was also named a Top Producer of awards, becoming the first dedicated SUNY institution to be named to both lists in the same year. Geneseo was one of only 18 colleges or universities nationwide to be recognized as a Top Producer for both students and scholars.
Five Geneseo alumni won US Student Fulbright awards for 2022鈥23, placing the College tied for fifth among more than 740 Carnegie Classification master鈥檚 degree institutions. Geneseo was consecutively named a Top Producer and finished in the top three nationally in 2017鈥18, 2018鈥19, 2019鈥20, and 2020鈥21.
The winners for 2022鈥23 were Gail Cabahug 鈥22 (Spain), Sarah Fadlaoui 鈥22 (Germany), Michael Hughes 鈥20 (Austria), Isabel Owen 鈥19 (Brazil), and Kallie Swyer 鈥17 (Lithuania). The college鈥檚 historical total is now 46, with 34 awards coming in the past six years and 43 awards since 2010. Final award winners for 2023鈥24 cycle will be announced beginning in March.
For the 2017鈥18 Fulbright cycle, Geneseo was the first dedicated SUNY institution to be named a Top Producer of US Student awards in any category鈥攂achelor鈥檚, master鈥檚, research, or special-focus four-year institutions.

Fulbrights at Geneseo
Since its inception in 1946, the Fulbright US Student Program has provided more than 400,000 participants鈥攃hosen for their academic merit and leadership potential鈥攚ith the opportunity to exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. More than 1,900 US students, artists, and young professionals in more than 100 different fields of study are offered Fulbright grants to study, teach English, and conduct research abroad each year. The Fulbright US Student Program operates in more than 160 countries throughout the world.
