Eleven academics join Caius Fellowship

Eleven new Fellows of ºÚÁÏÍø were admitted in Chapel on Monday evening at the start of the 2024-25 academic year.

Research Fellows (Music), (Geography), (Mathematics) and Dr Mor Rozner (Physics) were and have now arrived. 

(Mathematics) has been named as the Jan Saxl Lecturer in Mathematics. The post is named in honour of the late Professor Jan Saxl, who was a fellow of the College from 1986 until 2020. 

(Economics), (Chinese), Dr Arjen Bakker (Theology) and (Engineering), the Regius Professor of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, have all joined as Fellows.

(Physics) and (Mathematics), a Bye-Fellow at Caius in 2022-23, have also joined as Fellows. 

(Biochemistry) has joined Caius as a Research Bye-Fellow from the Global South. He succeeds Dr Thomas Biginagwa (archaeozoologist and historical archaeologist), who leaves during Michaelmas Term.

has joined as the Cook-Crone Bye-Fellow, while (Management Studies), (Biology) and Professor Mina Ryten (Clinical Medicine) have also been named Bye-Fellows.

Teaching Associates appointed from October 2024 are (English), (HSPS), Dr Nathan Mercieca (Music) and Mr Joe Robinson (HSPS). 

Dr Anna Breger (Mathematics), Dr Abigail Moffett (Archaeology), (History and Philosophy of Science) and Dr Yizhou Yu (Computational Biology/Neuroscience) have joined as Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDRAs).

The incoming French Lectrice is , replacing Alix Michaud.

Fellows who have departed are (Physics), who has moved to Leiden in the Netherlands and (History), who has joined Princeton.

(English) has moved to Merton College and the University of Oxford, while Professor Lionel Smith (Law) has been and has joined Caius¡¯ sister college, Brasenose.

Dr Jose Siqueira has left his role as a Bye-Fellow in Mathematics and now works for .
